Tag guide: how to label posts so people can find them

Tags make the community searchable after the first wave of replies.

Use tags when they help someone find the topic later. Good examples:

  • official: source is an official page, guide, or published reference
  • policy: AFI, DAFMAN, DAFI, PSDM, memo, or guidance discussion
  • source-needed: useful claim, but someone should verify it
  • template: reusable document, format, or starting point
  • checklist: step-by-step process or repeatable task list

Do not over-tag. Pick the few that actually describe the post.
